Privacy Policy for Nestory

Effective date: 4 August 2026 · App: Nestory (com.nestory.app)

Nestory is a home-inventory app that helps you catalogue your belongings, attach photos and receipts, track values and warranty dates, and generate reports. Nestory is designed to be offline-first: your data stays on your device. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is protected.

Summary

Information the app handles

The following information is created and kept only on your device and is never sent to us:

Device permissions and why they are used

Receipt scanning (OCR)

When you scan a receipt, text recognition is performed on your device using Google’s ML Kit on-device text recognition. The receipt image and the recognised text are not uploaded to us or to any third party; the results are saved with your item locally.

Backups

Backups are optional and fully under your control. When you create a backup, Nestory builds a portable .nstory file on your device and opens the standard Android share sheet so you can save it wherever you choose (for example, Google Drive, OneDrive, or local storage). Nestory does not operate any cloud storage and does not have access to the destination you choose. Any data placed in a third-party service is then governed by that service’s own privacy policy.

Purchases

Nestory offers a one-time in-app purchase (“Pro”) to unlock premium features. Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. Nestory never sees or stores your payment card details; it only receives whether the purchase was successful so it can unlock the feature. Google’s handling of payment information is described in Google’s own privacy policy.

Data sharing

We do not share your data with anyone, because we do not collect it. Nestory contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no crash-reporting service operated by us.

Data retention and deletion

Because your data is stored locally, you are always in control of it. You can delete individual items within the app, and uninstalling Nestory removes all of its data from your device. Any backup files you exported yourself remain wherever you saved them until you delete them.

Children’s privacy

Nestory is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Your data resides on your device and is protected by your device’s own security. You can enable biometric lock within Nestory for an additional layer of protection.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
